The Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honour bestowed upon an individual by ICFM.

WHO MAY RECEIVE THE AWARD - The award may be granted to an individual who have dedicated a minimum of 10 years to consistently and regularly contribute to the International Conference on Flood Management. Multiple awards may be granted at any time.

HOW ARE THE AWARDEE(S) NOMINATED – Members of the ICFM community can nominate candidates for the award at any time by sending nominations to the ICFM permanent secretariat (zhch16_1981@126.com). Nominations should align with the criteria outlined below, and a vitae must accompany each nomination.

WHO SELECTS THE AWARDEE(S) - An awards committee, consisting of at least three individuals elected during the Ad Hoc Committee meeting the year before the award presentation, will review nominations and vitae for each nominee, ultimately making the final decision.

WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA FOR THE AWARD - The award will be conferred based on the individual's adherence to the standards outlined in these categories: (1) contribution to sustainable flood management for increasing resilience; (2) promotion of the ICFM; (3) active participation at the ICFM conferences; and (4) taking an active role in public education.
